about

THE 8-TRACK BANDIT is the second mixtape by D.C.-area record producer and hip hop recording artist A.J. Throwback. It was released on August 3, 2010, by THCN Music in association with High Society/M.O.R.A.L. Music. The mixtape is a follow-up to A.J. Throwback's independently-released debut mixtape, LEGEND OF THE FALL. Featuring samples, break beats and loops from late 60s, 70s and early 80s artists such as Sly & The Family Stone, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, M.F.S.B. and Switch, the 23-track project features "Memo to the Naysayers", "Breakin' Out", "Bad, Bad Dude" , "East of the River", "The Spirit of Penny Wright", "We Ain't High Enough Yet" and "Just a Lil Game We Play". In addition to the independent release, the mixtape was also promoted via ForTheDMVOnly.com and DCMumboSauce.com.
